This tool focuses on the conversions that work reliably client-side. It doesn't convert PDFs to editable Word or Excel files with layout preserved — that requires a full document-reconstruction engine that can't run safely in a browser tab. For that, your best bet is still Microsoft Word's own "Open PDF" / "Save As" feature, or a desktop PDF editor.

Frequently asked questions
How do I convert a PDF to JPG images?
Choose "PDF → Images," set the format to JPG, pick a resolution, and drop in your PDF. Each page is rendered as a separate JPG — a single-page PDF downloads as one image, and a multi-page PDF downloads as a .zip with one image per page.
Can I combine multiple images into one PDF?
Yes — switch to "Images → PDF," add your JPG or PNG files, reorder them with the arrow buttons so they're in the order you want, then build the PDF. Each image becomes one page, at the image's own dimensions.
Can this convert a PDF to an editable Word or Excel file?
Not with layout preserved — that requires a full document-reconstruction engine that isn't safe or practical to run in a browser tab. This tool's "PDF → Text" mode extracts the plain text content, which works well for further editing, but formatting, tables, and images aren't preserved. For a true editable Word file, use Microsoft Word's built-in "Open PDF" feature or a desktop PDF editor.
Why did PDF → Text return nothing for my file?
If a PDF was created by scanning a paper document, it's really just a photo of text with no actual text layer behind it — there's nothing for this tool to extract. You'd need an OCR (optical character recognition) tool for scanned documents, which this converter doesn't include.
Is my file uploaded anywhere?
No. Every conversion — rendering PDF pages, building a PDF from images, or extracting text — happens entirely in your browser. Files are never sent to a server, which makes this safe for contracts and other sensitive documents.
What's the maximum file size?
20 MB per file. Password-protected PDFs generally aren't supported — remove the password in the file's original application first.
Choosing between JPG and PNG for PDF pages
JPG produces much smaller files and is the right default for most PDFs — text documents, reports, and photo-heavy pages all compress well. PNG is lossless and better suited to pages with sharp lines, small text, or diagrams where JPG's compression can introduce visible artifacts, at the cost of a larger file.
What this tool won't do
Being upfront about limits: this converter does not turn a PDF into an editable Word document with the original layout, fonts, and tables intact, and it does not convert Word or Excel files into PDFs. Both require a full document-rendering engine — the kind of thing Microsoft Word, Google Docs, or a desktop PDF editor already does well. This tool sticks to conversions that work reliably and safely inside a browser tab: PDF to image, image to PDF, and PDF to plain text.
It also can't read text out of a scanned PDF (a PDF that's really just photographed pages) — that requires OCR, a different technology this tool doesn't include.
