This free online calculator does what the one on your phone does — add, subtract, multiply, divide, percentages — but on any screen, with your keyboard. Type the numbers, press Enter, and the answer is there. Every result goes into a history you can click to reuse, and one button copies the answer to your clipboard.

It also gets the maths right in the way people expect: 2 + 3 × 4 gives 14, because multiplication is evaluated before addition, the same as the iPhone calculator and every textbook. Floating-point artefacts are rounded away, so 0.1 + 0.2 shows 0.3. Nothing you type leaves your browser.

How to use

  1. Click the keys, or just type: digits and the numeric keypad, + − * / for operators, . for decimals.
  2. Press Enter or = to calculate. Backspace removes the last digit; Esc clears (C clears the entry, AC clears everything).
  3. Use % for percentages: 200 + 10 % gives 10% of 200; a bare 50 % gives 0.5. ± flips the sign.
  4. Click any line in the history to bring that result back, or use Copy result to paste it elsewhere.

Frequently asked questions

Does this calculator follow the order of operations?

Yes. Multiplication and division are evaluated before addition and subtraction, so 2 + 3 × 4 = 14. Some simple calculators evaluate strictly left to right and would give 20; this one behaves like the iPhone calculator and like the maths you were taught.

Can I use my keyboard or numpad?

Yes — that is the point of it. Digits, the numeric keypad, + − * / for operators, . or , for the decimal point, Enter or = to calculate, Backspace to delete, Esc to clear and % for percent all work without touching the mouse.

Why does 0.1 + 0.2 show 0.3 and not 0.30000000000000004?

Computers store decimals in binary, which cannot represent 0.1 exactly, so raw floating-point arithmetic produces tiny errors. This calculator rounds every result to 12 significant digits before displaying it, which removes the noise without affecting real precision.

Is anything I type sent to a server?

No. The calculator runs entirely in your browser. There is no account, no tracking of what you calculate, and nothing to install.

Does it work on a phone?

Yes. The layout is the familiar phone-calculator grid, and the buttons are sized for touch. On a phone you use the on-screen keys; on a desktop you can use either the keys or the keyboard.

How percent works on this calculator

Percent keys are the most misunderstood button on any calculator, and different calculators disagree. This one follows the iPhone convention because it matches how people think about discounts and tax:

• A bare number followed by % divides it by 100: 50 % → 0.5.

• After + or −, % takes a percentage of the number before the operator: 200 + 10 % → 200 + 20 → 220. That is how you add 10% tax or take 10% off.

• After × or ÷, % simply divides the current entry by 100: 200 × 10 % → 200 × 0.1 → 20.

Keyboard shortcuts

• 0–9 and the numeric keypad: digits. Period or comma: decimal point.

• + − * / (or x): operators. Enter or =: calculate.

• Backspace: delete last digit. Esc or Delete: clear. %: percent.

• Shortcuts are ignored while you are typing in another field on the page, such as the feedback form.
